Sleek MakeUP Matte Me Lipstick Velvet Slipper Review

Hello and 안녕! Hope you guys in a good mood today (hihi) because I am going to review one liquid lipstick from Sleek MakeUp in the shade “Velvet Slipper”. So, let’s jump into the review.

What it is:
Matte Me is a matte finish liquid lipstick that glides on in one smooth application, with no need for a second coat. The light as air texture provides you with comfortable wear for hours, that doesn’t cake, flake or dry out, ensuring long lasting color all day.

Benefits:
- Highly pigmented color
- Matte finish
- Wand applicator

Amount of product:
6ml /0.2fl.oz

Shades available:

Ingredients:
SILICA, BENTONITE, ISODODECANE, CYCLOMETHICONE, POLYCYCLOPENTADIENE, BIS-DIGLYCERYL POLYACYLADIPATE-2, TRIFLUOROPROPYLDIMETHYL/TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE , TOCOPHEROL, PHENOXYETHANOL. MAY CONTAIN: CI 77891, CI 42090, CI 15850, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 19140, CI 45410.

How to use:
Ensure lips are prepped, removing all dead skin for a smooth application. Then, apply evenly to your top lip, then to your bottom. Lastly, part your lips, and gently blot with tissue removing any excess.

Packaging:
First, it comes in a transparent square tube which allows you to see what color of the lipstick.  The cap is black with matte finish.
There is also the sticker on the bottom with the shade name.

The applicator itself is just a normal straight wand applicator with slightly curved on top.  The point is curved so you can create a sharp line with this.

Color/ Pigmentation/ Texture:
I got in the shade Velvet slippers, which is a deep dusty plum/purple shade which looks a bit dark on my skin tone. The color is really pigmented and they are really smooth on my lips with a liquid consistency and dries down to a completely matte finish.

The consistency is not too thick, so it is very easy to apply. They dry down pretty fast so, we need to be quick in applying the lipstick. The lipstick doesn’t go patchy, however, the formula is too dry for my lips when it dries down and it creates like super weird wrinkles on my lips.

Another thing I noticed is, the texture can be a bit sticky and to remove the product can be hard sometimes. Also, I don't feel myself feels comfortable when I wear this because I always keep checking my lips in front of mirror whenever I wear this.

Lasting power:
If you are wearing these and not eating or drinking for long periods of time, lasting power is pretty good with these.  However, for the inner part of the lips, these don't stay well due to saliva, so you can clearly see that inner part is not cover. If you are eating, especially anything that is oily, these will fade around the inner part of the lips as well. Once these have set on the lips, they won't move or transfer at all and the finish is super dry matte. If you apply more layer, it will feel kind of heavy and patchy so, one or two coat is enough.

Fragrance:
These do have like a gummy scent to them but not overpowering. Your nose will not detect once you applied it. So, the fragrance not strong at all.

Pro:
- Long lasting and not transfer
- Great pigmentation
- Liquid texture

Con:
- The finish is too dry
- Can be tricky to remove the lipstick
- Sometimes a bit sticky
- Not comfortable on my lips
- Not suitable for chapped lips

Overall:
I'm having love and hate about this product. (not serious, actually hahaha)  I do like the pigmentation and the color and the lasting power but the formula is too dry for my lips, plus I feels very uncomfortable. I can still find matte liquid lipstick out there which a lot better than this with cheaper price too. Maybe this lipstick not work for me, but might work for you.
